fall line
The Fall Line is an inland shoreline of the prehistoric oceans. It's the point where mountains and hills meet at the Coastal Plain. This boundary separates the Piedmont and the Coastal Plains.
okefenokee Swamp
Located in the Outer Coastal Plain, the Okefenokee Swamp is the 2nd largest freshwater in the entire U.S. This area is a wildlife refuge for over 1000 species.
Appalachian mountain
The south end of Appalachian Mountains is located in the Blue Ridge region. In the early 1800s, gold was found in this area.
chattahoochee river
The Chattahoochee River is the most important river in Georgia, because it's a major source of drinking water and transportation route.
barrier islands
The Barrier Island were used as forts to protect against the enemy like Spain. It protects the mainland from erosion.
Savannah river
The Savannah River was extremely important to the first European settlers in Georgia. It flows along Georgia's eastern border.
